Unio is a wedding planning platform. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have — including what happens when you connect your Google account.
Data we collect
Account data: your name, email address and password (stored hashed), or the Google identity you sign in with. Wedding data: the information you and your partner enter about your wedding — date, country, events, tasks, vendors, expenses, payments, guests and seating.
Technical data: the pages you visit while signed in, your language preference, the country subdomain you use, and standard server logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) kept for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
To provide the service: showing your wedding to you and your partner, sending the notifications you request, and keeping your plan in sync across devices.
To operate the platform: measuring which features are used, detecting abuse, and diagnosing errors. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Google Calendar and Google Tasks data
If you choose to connect your Google account, Unio requests the Google Calendar scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar) and the Google Tasks scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks). Connecting is optional and Unio works fully without it.
What we do with this access: Unio creates a dedicated calendar named "Boda (Unio)" and a dedicated task list in your Google account, and keeps them in sync with your wedding events and tasks in both directions. Unio only reads and writes inside that calendar and that task list; it does not read your other calendars, task lists, contacts or email.
What we store: your OAuth tokens (encrypted at rest), the identifiers of the calendar and task list Unio created, the identifiers that link each Unio event or task to its Google copy, and the time of the last sync. We do not store copies of Google data beyond what is needed for that link.
What we never do: we do not share Google user data with third parties, we do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and no human at Unio reads it except to resolve a support request you make or as required by law.
Retention and revocation: Google data is kept only while your connection exists. Choosing "Remove connection" in Settings deletes the calendar, task list and synced items from your Google account and revokes Unio's access; you can also revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions page, after which Unio can no longer read or write anything.
Unio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention
We keep your account and wedding data while your account exists. Deleting your account removes your data; a wedding shared with a partner is kept for the partner. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted.
Your rights and choices
You can view and edit your data in the app, export it on request, disconnect Google at any time, and delete your account from Settings. Depending on your country you may have additional rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection); contact us to exercise them.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the people who operate the service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. The date at the top shows the latest version; material changes will be announced in the app.
